Grape juice will replace the red wine

Grape juice is not less good for the heart than red wine, and can prevent the development of coronary heart disease. These conclusions were French researchers from the University Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg. "Grape juice can have a similar preventive effect of red wine but without alcohol," - said Dr. Valerie Shini-Kert of the Universite Louis Pasteur de Strasbourg.

Red wine and certain grape juice have high levels of polyphenols, which block the production of a protein associated with cardiovascular diseases. Number of polyphenols in grape juice, as well as in red wine, depends on the type of grape used and the processing carried out.

However, Valerie Shini-Kert said that to date information on the level of polyphenols in grape juice still insufficient to be able to recommend certain varieties of grapes.
Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death in Western countries.
